There are many ways cultivate present moment awareness, and one of our favourites has always been mindful walking. And with the current social (physical) distancing rules making it hard to run groups indoors, our minds turned to the possibility of leading mindful bushwalks. All the benefits of mindfulness practice with the added advantage of exercise, fresh air, good company, and the beautiful natural environment!
Information about all the walks will be posted here, and if you'd like to receive email updates on the walks please email me on [email protected]. And if you're new to mountains mindfulness, also let us know if you'd like to receive emails about our mindfulness courses when they resume.
The format will evolve as we go, but you can expect some talking at the beginning and end, with mostly silent walking in between. Initially the walks are free, and we will open up to donations down the track.
WALK NO.1
Time and Date: 3pm on Saturday July 4 2020 Meeting place: North Lawson Park, at the end of St Bernards Drive, Lawson. (Down past the pool) The Walk: We will walk to Echo Bluff and back. Its an easy 30 minutes each way, so with time for some talk and perhaps an exercise it will be all over by 5pm. Bring: Whatever you need, but lets travel light.
